A show garden created by Surrey County Council has won a silver medal at this year’s RHS Hampton Court Palace Garden Festival for showing how parking spaces can be converted into vibrant green spaces.
West Horsley Place Trust is delighted to have been awarded a grant from The National Lottery Heritage Fund to gain new knowledge about their natural landscape, devise a strategic direction for its future and improve visitor’s enjoyment of its green spaces.

Following a successful bid for funding to the Department for Transport, Surrey County Council has been awarded an additional £1.7m for 12 new zero-emission buses. This follows a previous allocation in 2024, taking Surrey’s total provision to over £5 million and 31 new buses in total.
