YOUR COUNCILLOR COMMUNITY FUND APPLICATIONS OPEN FOR SURREY RESIDENTS
Surrey residents can once again apply for cash grants to improve their local area through the Your Councillor Community Fund via Surrey County Council councillors.
As Surrey County Council remains in its last year before it becomes East Surrey Council and West Surrey Council, the commitment to make a difference in our communities continues.
The Your Councillor Community Fund (YCCF) has benefitted communities in towns and villages from East to West, in 2025 the YCCF supported over 350 community projects via Surrey County Councillors, totalling £398k.
The Your Councillor Community Fund is designed to flexibly support a variety of costs, from purchasing sports equipment for local clubs to creating websites. It provides financial assistance to community groups and projects that enhance the quality of life for residents across Surrey on their doorsteps.
This year Surrey County Councillors will be provided with £10,000 to allocate within their local communities. With their deep understanding of the needs and priorities of their towns and villages, they can ensure that the funding is targeted to areas where it is most needed and where it can make the biggest impact. It can be used across a variety of projects that help promote the social, economic, and environmental wellbeing of their communities.
Examples of projects funded last year include:
- Interactive workshops in schools
- Dipping platform and improvements at a local nature reserve
- Christmas parties for disadvantaged residents who would otherwise be isolate
- Funding to support Parkinson’s speech therapy programmes
- Local cinema evenings in rural communities to help against social isolation
- Swimming training equipment to encourage long-term participation
Surrey County Council Cabinet Member for Health and Communities Councillor Mark Nuti said, “The Your Councillor Community Fund has been hugely successful in supporting a diverse range of community projects right on residents’ doorsteps. It’s fantastic to see the positive difference it has made across Surrey, and I am delighted it is open once again for another year.
“This fund has played a vital role in enabling Surrey County councillors to respond to local needs and support residents effectively. As we enter the final year of Surrey County Council in its current form, we are especially focused on leaving a lasting legacy — one that reflects the passion and dedication of our communities. By backing locally driven initiatives, we are helping to build vibrant, inclusive places where everyone can thrive and where no one is left behind.”
The Your Councillor Community Fund is open now and will close at the end of January 2027.
To apply for money from this year’s Your Councillor Community Fund you should contact your Surrey County Council councillor who will remain responsible for service matters and for supporting residents with casework until the transition to East Surrey and West Surrey councils on 1 April 2027.
