WILLOW FORAGING BASKET WORKSHOP / SEPTEMBER 5 / NOWER WOOD EDUCATIONAL RESERVE, LEATHERHEAD
Weaving with willow is an ancient craft. It has long been recognised as a sturdy, hardwearing and beautiful material with which to work.On this one day course, learn the technique of willow weaving from local artist, Louise Arthur. You will create your own small basket with a handle that is perfect for collecting berries, eggs or simply displaying fruit. This is a beginners course, but you will need some dexterity to finish this project.

Join West Horsley Place for a nature-packed day of guided walks and expert talks. The day will start with an expert-guided walk on the estate as you’re led through ancient woodlands and pasture as medical Herbalist Janine Gerhardt shares the wonder of plants with you. After a lunch break you will enjoy a talk from the award-winning Albury Vineyard in the barn, followed by another estate exploration, this time with guide Ben West focussed on the wildlife that calls this resplendent 400 acres home.

CLEANER AIR DAY / SEPTEMBER 28 / GUILDFORD TOWN CENTRE
Guildford’s Cleaner Air Day encourages motorists to choose alternative travel such as walking, cycling or public transport, instead of using their car for the day. At the same time, we can all reduce air pollution and give more room to breathe. Both Upper and Lower High Street, Guildford, will be only open to pedestrians, so come along and experience traffic-free roads. Plus, there’s lots of fun with fabulous food, market stalls, music, an archery game, and circus skills!
