INTERIOR DESIGN: LITTLE FOX INTERIORS
Designer Charlotte Miller, founder of Little Fox Interiors Limited has become known for creating interiors that feel personal, timeless and quietly full of character. With a background spanning global property, branding and luxury residential design, she has recently found her niche: crafting thoughtful, imaginative spaces for children.
We sat down with Charlotte to hear more about her journey, her philosophy, and why her work is increasingly sought after by families, including celebrity clients.
Charlotte, what first drew you into the world of interiors?
My journey began at Pret A Manger, where I worked across property and marketing during a period of global expansion to cities including Singapore, Dubai and Copenhagen. Being part of the team that developed Pret’s award-winning London headquarters made me realise how powerful design can be in shaping experiences, storytelling and how people feel.
You then moved into luxury residential design. Tell us about that.
I joined the Accouter Group and led the delivery of 148 high-end build-to-rent apartments during the pandemic. Our work at 8 Water Street for Vertus went on to win an International Property Award, which was a huge moment for the team and for me personally before I stepped back to have my little boy.
Becoming a parent seems to have influenced your creative direction.
Hugely. Designing my son’s bedroom sparked something unexpected. I found myself drawn to the balance between imagination, practicality and comfort that children’s spaces require. It felt incredibly meaningful to create a room that shaped his world. Then, after working on a project for a well-known family, everything clicked. I realised there is a growing desire, from everyday parents to celebrity clients, for children’s spaces that feel personal, beautifully made and designed to evolve. It also made me see that there is a real gap in the market for children’s interiors that feel timeless, considered and full of character. I knew I wanted to specialise in that.
Children’s interiors seem to have evolved a lot from what they used to be. How do you see the landscape now?
Completely. We have come a long way from the days of loud bedding sets and heavily themed rooms that children quickly grew out of. Today, parents want spaces with longevity. Calm, layered rooms that allow a child’s personality to shine without overwhelming the space. You can still nod to the things a child loves, but in a way that feels elevated and adaptable. For me, it is about designing with subtle storytelling, not gimmicks.
How would you describe your design philosophy today?
Warm, timeless and personal. I am drawn to natural textures, thoughtful detail and spaces that feel lived in rather than styled. I focus on creating environments that support wellbeing: calm enough for sleep, inspiring enough for play and flexible enough to evolve as a child grows. And while children are at the heart of what I do, I still take on select residential and commercial projects. No matter the client, my design language stays the same: storytelling, subtle luxury and spaces that feel lived in and meaningful.

What do you hope people will associate with your name?
Thoughtful design with heart. A sense of calm luxury. And increasingly, I hope people think she is the children’s interiors specialist, the one you go to when you want something truly special for your little one.
And what’s next for you?
Continuing to grow this niche and working with families who value thoughtful, characterful design, whether it is a child’s room, a treehouse or a playroom. I feel excited by where this area of design is heading, and I am excited to create more wonderful, imaginative spaces.
