THE BESPOKE HOME ORGANISER – ORGANISING YOUR HOME ONE SPACE AT A TIME
We caught up with Keri Whinney, founder of The Bespoke Home Organiser, to talk about the art of decluttering, creating calm spaces, and how a little organisation can make a big difference.
What exactly does a home organiser do?
A home organiser helps clients declutter, streamline, and optimise their living spaces. This includes sorting and categorising possessions, deciding what to keep/donate/discard, finding storage solutions, creating systems so everything has a place, and helping maintain the organisation long-term. They can also assist with moving in / unpacking, setting up functional home offices, or reorganising specific trouble-spots (like wardrobes, kitchens, paperwork
Why might someone consider hiring a professional home organiser rather than trying to do it themselves?
It can feel overwhelming to know where to start, and that’s often the hardest part. A professional organiser brings structure and breaks everything down into manageable steps.
I also offer an objective, non-judgemental perspective, which makes it easier for clients to make those sometimes difficult decisions about what to keep and what to let go.
What is your process when you begin a project with a client?
Initial consultation
Meet (in person or virtually) to understand their goals, pain points, lifestyle, what they like, what they don’t, what systems have failed in the past.
Assessment
What’s working, what isn’t, measuring, seeing what storage is already in place, how items are used.
Plan & design
Propose systems / layout changes / storage solutions; decide what to keep, what to remove, what new items or storage aids are needed.
Implementation
Decluttering, sorting, installing storage/arrangements, organising by zones, labelling, arranging everything so it’s easy to use.
Client training / handover
Showing the client how to use the new systems, making small adjustments so the systems match their habits.
Follow-up / maintenance
Sometimes scheduling checkins or maintenance sessions so systems remain functional.

How do you define success in your work? What results do you hope clients see?
For me, success is when a client tells me they feel less overwhelmed and more at ease in their own home. I want their spaces to be easier to maintain, with everything having a place so items can be found quickly without stress. It’s also about making daily routines smoother – whether that’s getting ready in the morning, keeping on top of cleaning, or working from home. Ultimately, I hope the home feels more pleasant, more functional, and more like a sanctuary. Just as importantly, the systems I put in place are designed to last, so clients can carry on confidently without needing constant support.
What are the benefits of Employing Someone to Organise Your Admin & Paperwork
Time Savings
You spend less time hunting for important documents, bills, receipts, warranties, etc. Having someone keep coming and going mail / paperwork organised means more of your time is freed up for things that matter. Indeed+2HouseLogic+2
Reduced Stress & Mental Load
Paper can pile up fast, and the mental burden of knowing things are “out of control” is heavy. A neat, organised admin system makes things feel more manageable and reduces anxiety.
Better Financial Control & Management
When bills, receipts, tax documents etc are organised, you’re more likely to pay on time, avoid late fees, reclaim expenses, track budgets, and ensure nothing slips through the cracks
